Boris Shwartzman, MD, has devoted much of his life to the study of medicine, with a passion for helping people manage their chronic pain and improve their quality of life. Dr. Shwartzman offers his vast experience, professionalism, and passion to provide patients a comprehensive pain management plan.

Dr. Shwartzman earned his medical degree at Latvia Medical Academy in Riga, Latvia, in 1986. He went on to complete a general surgery internship at Gailezers Hospital in Latvia, where he served as staff surgeon until 1989. Dr. Shwartzman then completed a transitional internship at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, before moving on to a surgery internship at New England Medical Center, now called Tufts Medical Center.

Dr. Shwartzman finished residency training in anesthesiology at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston in 1996, before moving on to become staff anesthesiologist at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts, a position he continues to hold. He has double board certifications in anesthesia and pain medicine.

In 2007, Dr. Shwartzman co-founded and serves as medical director for Comprehensive Pain Management, where he strives to help his patients manage their long-term pain. He is also one of the only doctors in the area to perform the Disc-FX® procedure to treat spinal disc issues. Comprehensive Pain Management has convenient locations in Attleboro and Franklin, Massachusetts, and in South Kingstown and Warwick, Rhode Island.
